St Paul's Marton
Freedom Church Mereside
Alongside the parish of St Paul's there is a large housing estate called Mereside. As part of the Blackburn Diocesan Vision 2026 of Healthy Churches, Transforming Communities, Rev’d Linda is a Pioneer Minister and serves the community of Mereside where she is planting a new Church
Along with her husband Pete, who is in training to be a Church Army Evangelist, they are using their home on the estate as a base to reach out into the community with a mission focus.
They have an informal and friendly communion service every Sunday at 4.30pm at Tarnside Community Centre, Tarnside, off Langdale Road, opposite Mereside Primary School. Everyone welcome!
Do you enjoy singing? Do you live or work on Mereside, or have a Mereside connection? If so, then please come to join Mereside Community Gospel Choir. It meets on Monday evenings at 7.30pm at Tarnside Community Centre (Opposite Mereside Primary School).
There are no auditions - all are welcome as long as you enjoy singing! We are a relaxed and friendly bunch who also like to socialise together. Come along and see!
Come and visit us most Sundays at Whyndyke Car Boot Sale where we have a large red tent. You can come and light a candle in memory of someone, or for healing. Ask for prayer or just have a chat. We even have a bowl of water for your dog!
It's a peaceful quite space in the midst of a busy world.
We also get together for a cup or tea or coffee and a chat every Tuesday morning from 10am - 11am at the Toby Carvery on Preston New Road. It's just a chance to socialise together and everyone is welcome!
